Momentum Conference 2023

On Thursday 7th September, we hosted our annual ‘Partners in Success’ conference for over 160 guests. Broker partners from across the UK joined us in Nottingham for an insightful day of Momentum updates, followed by an evening of networking and entertainment.

The day began with a warm welcome from Managing Director Howard Pepper. His opening address reflected on the changing landscape – particularly acknowledging “in a world of consolidation, you are playing a major part in the regeneration of our sector”.

Howard introduced regular ted talker Jack Vincent who shared his extensive knowledge and experience on how to grow your business, taking inspiration from his book ‘A Sale Is a Love Affair’.

Next to the stage was our Operations and Compliance Director, Steve Walton, who shared information about the recent FCA changes, and how this could potentially impact our broker partners.

And after listening to feedback, this year’s Marketplace was busier than ever! We welcomed over we 26 insurers and businesses to host a stand and meet delegates.

The day was split with numerous breakout sessions for our broker partners and guests to take advantage of: Premium Finance talked about the power of capability to help grow your business; AXA focussed on the inside track on understanding flood data like an insurer; BCH’s presentation focused on the ever-growing issue with underinsurance; Kiki Stanton on making ‘you’ a priority in your health, life and work; Pen Underwriting showcased their cyber tools; and our very own Lucy Mistry demonstrated a brilliant new feature on Acturis to enhance our broker partners experience with the platform.

The Q&A session was hosted by Alistair Body (Business Development Director) and Matt Brunton (Momentum). He welcomed Georgina Davis (Zurich), Raoul Suthers (Aviva), Stewart Gardiner (Pen Underwriting), Vicky Barrett (Allianz), to the stage. Questions varied on the state of particular sectors of the industry, to how they see technology change current practices in future.
