BIBA 2026 is almost here, and we’re getting ready to make the most of our two days Manchester. On 13-14 May you can find us on stand F24, where you can learn more about us, and what we offer as the only UK independent Appointed Representative (AR) network – including how our bespoke funding options can help you grow and build a successful insurance brokerage. Whether you’re already with another Principal, contemplating starting your own insurance brokerage, or simply curious about what becoming an Appointed Representative (AR) could mean for you, pop by for a chat.
Ahead of the event, we caught up with Simon and Sasha from our Sales Team to see what they’re looking forward to.

There’s a reason the industry keeps returning to Manchester each May. For Business Development Manager Simon Clegg, the appeal is obvious,
“The whole industry tends to attend BIBA. It gives me an opportunity to meet up with people over the two days that ordinarily would take weeks to organise.”

Business Development Executive Sasha Goschen sees the sheer scale of the event as its defining quality.
“From attendees to stand presenters, the number of people in one room is more than I have ever seen before, and this is a great chance to network with like-minded individuals.”
For her, the conference also serves a professional development purpose, with the keynote sessions offering a valuable opportunity to stay informed on the issues shaping the market.

BIBA’s 2025 theme, Time:To, centres on embracing the present and driving meaningful change. It is a message that resonates particularly strongly with what we do at Momentum.
Simon is candid about a tendency he recognises across the industry,
“As a sector, we are risk averse and often look for reasons not to act. For me, this theme demonstrates Momentum is the right partner – a network that is invested in your business and your long-term success.”
It is, he suggests, less about waiting for conditions to be perfect and more about having the conviction to move forward.
Sasha believes that the theme feels personal to her role of attracting new brokers into Momentum:
“It highlights the importance of seizing opportunity rather than waiting for the next one to come along. From my perspective, there is no better time than the present to have a conversation about how to start your own insurance brokerage, and that is exactly the discussions I am hoping to have at BIBA.”
Ask the team what topics are likely to dominate the two days and artificial intelligence and consolidation will be front and centre. Simon also expects Consumer Duty to remain a significant theme throughout the conference, specifically, how firms are embedding it into their day-to-day operations rather than treating it as a compliance exercise.
Sasha is particularly interested in the conversation around AI, not just the opportunities it presents, but the risks that businesses need to understand and navigate.
“How the industry chooses to utilise AI, and what it needs to be cautious of, is going to be a really important discussion.”

Book some time with us at Stand F24.
Simon, and Sasha will all be at the conference for both days. If you would like to speak with them, whether to explore AR status, discuss what independence could look like for your business, or simply to find out more about Momentum, you can book a confidential meeting at a time that suits you.
