At Momentum, we believe the future of the insurance industry is shaped by the people stepping into it for the first time.
That’s why welcoming a new intake of apprentices is always an important moment for us. It’s an opportunity to celebrate future talent bringing new ideas not only to our business, but to the insurance sector more widely, as they begin their careers in insurance.
Our commitment to apprenticeships goes back over ten years. Today, we’re proud to welcome four new apprentices, each bringing a different background, a fresh perspective and a shared ambition to build a career in insurance.
Their stories also highlight something bigger. There isn’t one single path into becoming an insurance broker, and each joins with their own goals and motivations.
Meet our new apprentices.

James, Olivia, Hadiqa and Katie
Olivia Brookes (19) joined from a hospitality role in Leicester. Introduced to the business through someone who works here already, she was drawn to the supportive working environment and the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification while building real-world experience.
James Ravenshill (21) spent three years working in a garden centre restaurant before deciding he wanted a more structured career path. After discovering the opportunity through the Government apprenticeship portal, James chose insurance as a way to develop transferable skills and work towards a professional qualification.
Katie Chiswell (19) brings experience in both administration and childcare, having worked in a factory environment and a nursery setting. After speaking with someone who had previously joined Momentum as an apprentice, she saw the scheme as a chance to complete a qualification and build a long-term career.
Hadiqa Zafar (23) joins with a background in law and criminology, alongside experience working as a police officer. She too discovered the role through the Government website and is particularly interested in the technical and investigative side of insurance, with a long-term ambition to explore areas such as fraud.
How to become an apprentice insurance broker.
If you’re looking to pursue a career in insurance, an apprenticeship is one of the most accessible and practical ways to get started. It offers hands-on experience while giving the opportunity to earn while you learn.
For many people searching for an insurance apprenticeship in the UK, the biggest question is where to begin. The reality is you don’t need prior industry experience. What matters most is your willingness to learn and your ambition to build a career.
A typical insurance broker apprenticeship includes:
- Learning on the job
- Studying towards the CII Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII)
- Developing core skills in communication, organisation and risk understanding
- Gaining exposure to different areas of the business
- Building a foundation for long-term career progression
At Momentum, apprentices are part of the team from day one. You’re learning, contributing and developing in a real business environment.
Why choose an insurance apprenticeship?
A career in insurance offers more opportunity than many people realise.
Choosing an apprenticeship in insurance means you can:
- Earn while you learn
- Gain industry-recognised qualifications
- Develop transferable business skills
- Build a long-term, stable career
For our apprentices, the appeal was clear: a chance to gain a qualification, a route into a professional environment, and an opportunity to create options for the future.
First impressions on their career at Momentum.
From their first week, our apprentices have already experienced what makes Momentum different. We’re proud to have a supportive team and a culture where questions and new ideas are encouraged.
Whether it’s learning new systems, meeting colleagues across the business or simply settling into a new routine, the focus is on helping each individual grow with confidence.
At Momentum, success is shared. When our people develop, the business develops with them.
An apprenticeship is just the beginning.
Over the coming months, Olivia, James, Katie and Hadiqa will continue to build their knowledge, work towards their qualifications and start shaping their own paths within the industry, building careers with real long-term potential.
If you’re considering your next move and exploring entry-level insurance jobs or apprenticeships in the UK, their journeys show what’s possible.
